Why Trust Court Builders of the Rockies?

When managing a commercial project—whether for a municipality, school district, or homeowners association—liability and longevity are your top priorities. You need a partner who understands the engineering behind the game.

Court Builders of the Rockies stands apart as the only ASBA (American Sports Builders Association) Certified Court Builder in the region.

Combined with our Class A General Engineering License, we provide a true turn-key solution. We don’t just install surface tiles; we handle the site work, drainage, concrete engineering, and construction management required for large-scale commercial facilities. From public parks in San Jose to private clubs in Napa, we deliver courts built to withstand heavy public use and Wyoming and Colorado’s specific climate.

The Smart Solution for Shared Spaces

budget cycles. Our multi-game court systems are engineered to solve these problems while maximizing the utility of your space.

    • Maximize Utilization: A single footprint can host Basketball, Pickleball, Volleyball, and Futsal. This allows schools and parks to serve more diverse user groups without expanding their real estate.
    • Reduce Liability: Our suspended modular surfaces provide vertical shock absorption and lateral forgiveness, significantly reducing the risk of injuries compared to bare concrete.
    • Lower Lifecycle Costs: Traditional asphalt courts crack and require frequent resurfacing. Our modular systems bridge cracks, resist fading, and often come with warranties up to 15 years, reducing long-term maintenance budgets.
    • Community Branding: We can customize courts with school mascots, corporate logos, or community colors to build pride and identity.

Applications & Facilities We Serve

We partner with architects, facility managers, and board members to upgrade:

    • Schools & Universities: Safe, durable play areas that withstand thousands of student hours.
    • Public Parks & Recreation: Low-maintenance courts that remain vibrant and safe for the public.
    • HOAs & Apartment Complexes: Amenities that increase property value and reduce noise (our tiles dampen sound compared to concrete).
    • Corporate Campuses: Wellness-focused recreation areas for employee engagement.
    • Churches & Community Centers: Multi-purpose surfaces that can host sports one hour and community events the next.

Commercial Surfacing Systems

We offer two primary surfacing categories tailored to your facility’s specific needs and budget.

1. Modular Sport Court® Safety Tiles (High Durability)

The ideal choice for K-12 schools, public parks, and cracked concrete rehabilitation.

  • SportGame™: The industry standard for outdoor safety. Features a flow-through grid design that drains water instantly, allowing play to resume minutes after rain.
  • Durability: UV-stabilized to resist fading and engineered to withstand heavy foot traffic.
  • Crack Remediation: If your facility has an old, cracked tennis court, we can often install this system directly over the existing slab, saving you the massive cost of demolition and repouring.

2. Cushioned Acrylic Systems (Premium Performance)

The preferred choice for Tennis Clubs, Universities, and Pickleball Complexes.

  • ProCushion™: A multi-layered, liquid-applied acrylic system with rubber granules. It provides the professional look of a hard court but with significant force reduction to protect players’ joints.
  • CushionX™: A prefabricated rubber mat system topped with acrylics. This offers superior shock absorption and sound dampening, making it excellent for pickleball courts near residential areas where noise is a concern.

Sample Of Our Work

Our projects speak for themselves.

Court Builders of the Rockies - Commercial Outdoor - Sacramento Parks and Recreation - Sacramento, CA

Multi-Sport Game Court built for Sacramento Parks and Recreation in Sacramento, CA

These courts had over 10,000 linear feet of cracking in the asphalt. The City was going to demolish the entire project and start from scratch. When we presented an option to salvage the existing asphalt, treat all the cracks, and then overlay the asphalt with a modular performance (tile) playing surface, this not only saved them hundreds of thousands of dollars, but also extended the life of these courts by another 25-30 years. Meanwhile, we were able to reconfigure the space so that there was basketball, tennis, and pickleball lines in the same area that previously just had lines for tennis. What a win!

Court Builders of the Rockies - Commercial Outdoor - Hitachi - Santa Clara, CA

Multi-Sport Game Court built for Hitachi in Santa Clara, CA

Another corporate campus Sport Court Game Court project, with the premier modular tile system manufactured by Sport Court. Here we were able to fully construct and install the full basketball court, with lines for paddle tennis, pickleball, and volleyball.

Court Builders of the Rockies - Commercial Outdoor - Trinity School - Menlo Park, CA

Multi-Sport Game Court built for Trinity School in Menlo Park, CA

The Trinity School in Menlo Park had our team install a Sport Court modular overlay system on top of their existing asphalt. It was more than repair work, more like a big upgrade for the play yard. Now the kids enjoy playing on a safe basketball surface, while also enjoying volleyball and Foursquare

Court Builders of the Rockies - Commercial Outdoor - Woodside Priory School - Woodside, CA

Multi-Sport Game Court built for Woodside Priory School in Woodside, CA

Our team was asked to build a custom game court for a elementary and middle school in Woodside, CA for kids to play basketball, volleyball, badminton, and pickleball in a relatively smaller space. We were able to design a “one of a kind” design to maximize space and provide multiple areas of play for the students to enjoy safely.

Court Builders of the Rockies - Commercial Outdoor - YMCA Pleasant Hill - Pleasant Hill, CA

Multi-Sport Game Court built for YMCA Pleasant Hill in Pleasant Hill, CA

When the YMCA called for a recreational game court area, we were there right away to answer the call. Our team had a lot of fun designing this custom commercial court project with vibrant colors, and an array of different courts all in this 11,000 square foot space. This modular surface will be providing a safe place for kids of all ages to play and enjoy, compared to the previous surface, which was just asphalt. Our tempered-glass adjustable basketball hoop systems were scattered throughout, providing ample space for different groups to play basketball simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can you renovate our HOA’s cracked tennis courts into pickleball courts?

A: Yes. This is our most common commercial project. We can often repair the cracks and install a modular tile surface over the top, converting one tennis court into four pickleball courts. This saves the cost of demolition and provides a “brand new” court guarantee.

Q: How long does a commercial installation take?

A: Once the base is ready (or if we are resurfacing an existing slab), the surfacing installation is rapid—often completed in 3-5 days. Full construction projects involving grading and concrete typically take 4-6 weeks depending on permitting.

Q: Are your surfaces safe for public playgrounds?

A: Absolutely. Our SportGame™ surfaces are designed with “Lateral Forgiveness” to reduce the impact of falls and protect growing joints, making them the standard for elementary schools across the country.

What Our Customers Say About Us:

“When an agent secures a listing on a home with a Game Court in it, I know they will have a much easier time finding a buyer for that house than a similar home with a swimming pool.”

– J.B. Goodwin, CEO/Broker, JBGoodwin Company

“I wanted to let you know how much we love our Game Court. At least one of our three kids uses it every day. I promise I’m not exaggerating – we use it every day.”

– Cindy and Lamar Slay

“The first night the court was completed, our entire family had a blast playing tennis and basketball and we realized how much ‘together time’ we had been missing.”

– Mac Pfeiffer

“My ability to continue to play through the joint pain, after so many years on concrete, was reaching the point of no return. Game Court gave me a second chance; and I am able even now at 65 to play two hours with no problems of any kind.”

– Howard Rubin

“I am writing to tell you how much our Game Court has meant to my family over the 14 years that we have had it. I have two boys, who early on, used the Game Court to learn to ride tricycles and bikes because we live on a steep hill and this provided the only flat surface. They learned to hit the baseball off a tee and to catch. Eventually, they learned to shoot baskets. They each have been excellent three-point shooters attributable solely to many hours they spent on the court.”

– Donde L. Plowman
