Commercial Multi-Game Courts

Durable, Safe & Low-Maintenance Solutions for the Rockies & High Plains

Why Work With Court Builders of the Rockies?

Transform underutilized space into your facility’s biggest asset. Whether you manage a municipal park, an apartment complex, a school, or a private club, your outdoor amenities define your value. But traditional asphalt courts are a maintenance nightmare—cracking, fading, and creating liability issues after just a few winters.

Court Builders of the Rockies provides a better solution. As the region’s ASBA Builder Member, we design high-performance commercial courts engineered to withstand the freeze-thaw cycles of Colorado, Wyoming, and the Midwest. We help you build facilities that attract members, reduce liability, and virtually eliminate annual maintenance costs.

Maximize Utility: One Court, Multiple Sports

Don’t build three separate courts when one will do. Commercial real estate is valuable. Our Multi-Sport systems allow you to stack multiple activities onto a single footprint, maximizing the return on your investment. With custom line striping and adjustable equipment, a single 60′ x 100′ pad can simultaneously serve as:
    • 2 Pickleball Courts (The #1 amenity request for HOAs/Hotels)

    • 1 Full Basketball Court

    • 1 Volleyball Court

    • 1 Futsal (Soccer) Pitch

The Technology: Engineered for Longevity

Commercial courts face heavy traffic and harsh weather. We use a two-step system to ensure durability:

1. The Foundation: Post-Tension Concrete

Standard asphalt courts in our region inevitably crack due to soil heaving. We specialize in Post-Tension Concrete—a specialized slab reinforced with high-strength steel cables. This creates a “monolithic” base that bridges unstable soils and resists cracking for decades, not just years.

2. The Surface: Suspended Modular Tiles

Directly over the concrete, we install our pro-grade modular surfacing.

    • Liability Reduction: The tiles feature Lateral Forgiveness™, a slight side-to-side movement that absorbs impact and reduces the risk of joint injuries and concussions compared to bare concrete.

    • Self-Draining: The open-grid design allows rain and snowmelt to flow through instantly. No more puddles, no more slippery moss buildup, and no more “rain delays.”

    • Low Maintenance: Never resurface or repaint again. If a tile is damaged by vandalism, it can be snapped out and replaced in minutes for a few dollars.

Who We Serve

We provide turnkey design-build services for a wide range of commercial clients:

  • HOAs & Community Centers: Revitalize aging tennis courts by converting them into vibrant Pickleball and Multi-Sport hubs.

  • Parks & Recreation: Durable, vandal-resistant public courts that can handle thousands of hours of play.

  • Schools & Universities: Safe, high-performance surfaces for PE, recess, and collegiate competition.

  • Apartments & Condos: High-value amenities that attract and retain tenants.

  • Churches & Non-Profits: Versatile spaces for youth groups and community events.

Sample Of Our Work

Our projects speak for themselves.

Court Builders of the Rockies - Commercial Outdoor - Sacramento Parks and Recreation - Sacramento, CA

Multi-Sport Game Court built for Lakewood Parks and Recreation in Lakewood, CO

These courts had over 10,000 linear feet of cracking in the asphalt. The City was going to demolish the entire project and start from scratch. When we presented an option to salvage the existing asphalt, treat all the cracks, and then overlay the asphalt with a modular performance (tile) playing surface, this not only saved them hundreds of thousands of dollars, but also extended the life of these courts by another 25-30 years. Meanwhile, we were able to reconfigure the space so that there was basketball, tennis, and pickleball lines in the same area that previously just had lines for tennis. What a win!

Court Builders of the Rockies - Commercial Outdoor - Hitachi - Santa Clara, CA

Multi-Sport Game Court built for Little Pub in Denver, CO

Another corporate campus Sport Court Game Court project, with the premier modular tile system manufactured by Sport Court. Here we were able to fully construct and install the full basketball court, with lines for paddle tennis, pickleball, and volleyball.

Court Builders of the Rockies - Commercial Outdoor - Trinity School - Menlo Park, CA

Multi-Sport Game Court built for Addenbrooke Academy in Lakewood, CO

The Addenbrooke Academy had our team install a Sport Court modular overlay system on top of their existing asphalt. It was more than repair work, more like a big upgrade for the play yard. Now the kids enjoy playing on a safe basketball surface, while also enjoying volleyball and Foursquare

Court Builders of the Rockies - Commercial Outdoor - Woodside Priory School - Woodside, CA

Multi-Sport Game Court built for Flatiron Academy in Westminster, CO

Our team was asked to build a custom game court for a elementary and middle school in Westminster, CO for kids to play basketball, volleyball, badminton, and pickleball in a relatively smaller space. We were able to design a “one of a kind” design to maximize space and provide multiple areas of play for the students to enjoy safely.

Court Builders of the Rockies - Commercial Outdoor - YMCA Pleasant Hill - Pleasant Hill, CA

Multi-Sport Game Court built for YMCA in Lafayette, CO

When the YMCA called for a recreational game court area, we were there right away to answer the call. Our team had a lot of fun designing this custom commercial court project with vibrant colors, and an array of different courts all in this 11,000 square foot space. This modular surface will be providing a safe place for kids of all ages to play and enjoy, compared to the previous surface, which was just asphalt. Our tempered-glass adjustable basketball hoop systems were scattered throughout, providing ample space for different groups to play basketball simultaneously.

Our Commercial Construction Process

We are not just installers; we are builders.

1. Site Assessment: We evaluate your existing soil, drainage, and slope to prevent future structural failures.

2. Design & Engineering: We provide detailed layout plans, including line striping for multiple sports, ensuring you maximize the number of courts per square foot.

3. Base Construction: Whether it’s Post-Tension Concrete (which resists cracking) or laser-graded asphalt, we build the foundation right.

4. Installation: Our certified crews install fencing, lighting, surfacing, and athletic equipment (hoops, nets, windscreens).

5. Project Closeout: We walk you through maintenance protocols and warranty registration.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How much maintenance does a commercial multi-sport court require?

A: Virtually none. Unlike asphalt (which requires crack filling and repainting every 3-5 years) or clay (daily watering/rolling), our modular courts just need an occasional leaf blowing or power wash. This saves your maintenance staff hundreds of hours annually.

Q: Can you resurface our existing cracked tennis courts?

A: Yes. This is our most popular commercial project. We can often install our modular surface directly over cracked asphalt (bridging the imperfections) or perform a “Post-Tension Overlay” to permanently stabilize the foundation before surfacing. This is significantly cheaper than total demolition.

Q: Are your courts ADA compliant?

A: Yes. We can design ramps and transitions to ensure your facility is fully accessible and compliant with ADA standards.

Q: How does the warranty work for commercial projects?

A: We stand behind our work with industry-leading warranties. Our modular surfaces typically carry a 15-year limited warranty, and our post-tension concrete foundations are built to last a lifetime.
