Custom Home Gyms & Indoor Athletic Flooring
Transform Your Space into a Pro-Level Training Facility
Why drive to the health club when you can train in the privacy of your own home?
Whether you are converting a garage into a shooting court, outfitting a basement weight room, or building a dedicated training facility, Court Builders of the Rockies delivers the same high-performance surfaces used by collegiate and professional athletes.
As the region’s only ASBA (American Sports Builders Association) Certified Court Builder, we understand that a great home gym is more than just equipment—it starts with the floor. We install advanced indoor surfacing that protects your joints, reduces noise, and withstands the rigors of heavy daily use.
The “Garage Gym” Revolution
Don’t let your garage just sit there. Make it work for you.
The most popular home improvement trend across the Rockies and Midwest is the Garage Conversion. We can transform a cold, dusty concrete garage floor into a vibrant, safe, and warm athletic space.
-
- Dual-Purpose Durability: Our high-impact modular flooring is tough enough to handle a parked car but engineered for athletic performance. You can shoot hoops in the afternoon and park the SUV at night.
- Moisture Resistance: Unlike real wood or carpet, our synthetic flooring systems are impervious to water. If you drive in with wet tires or have a minor leak, the flooring won’t warp, rot, or smell.
- Thermal Insulation: Installing our suspended flooring over concrete creates a thermal break, making the floor significantly warmer on your feet during chilly Colorado and Wyoming winters.

Our Flooring Technologies
We offer two distinct categories of indoor surfacing, depending on your fitness goals:
1. Synthetic Wood-Look Flooring (The “Court” Feel)
Ideal for: Basketball, Volleyball, Yoga, Dance, Pickleball.
Get the aesthetic of a classic hardwood court without the nightmare maintenance.
-
- Shock Absorption: Our modular tiles feature a suspended understructure that provides “vertical give.” This protects knees and ankles from the harsh impact of concrete.
- No Sanding or Refinishing: Real wood expands, contracts, and scratches. Our synthetic surfaces maintain their high-gloss finish for decades with just a simple mop.
- Custom Designs: We can simulate classic maple planking or create bold, team-colored designs with custom logos embedded in the floor.
2. Heavy-Duty Rubber Flooring (The “Weight Room” Feel)
Ideal for: Free Weights, CrossFit, Cardio Machines.
-
- Impact Protection: Dropping a 45lb dumbbell on concrete can crack your foundation. Our dense, recycled rubber flooring absorbs heavy impacts, protecting both your sub-floor and your equipment.
- Sound Dampening: Rubber naturally absorbs vibration and sound, making it the perfect choice for upstairs gyms or homes where noise control is a priority.
- Hygiene: Our non-porous rubber surfaces are anti-microbial and easy to sanitize, keeping your workout space fresh.
Complete Your Facility
A floor alone doesn’t make a gym. As a General Engineering Contractor, we provide a turnkey solution including:
-
- Wall Padding: Protect players from wall impacts with custom-wrapped safety pads (essential for tight garage courts).
- Adjustable Hoops: Wall-mounted or ceiling-hung basketball systems that maximize floor space.
- Containment Netting: Retractable nets to protect windows, mirrors, and storage areas from stray balls.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can I install this flooring over my existing concrete?
A: Yes. In most cases, we can “float” our modular or rubber flooring directly over your existing concrete slab, provided it is relatively level. This saves the huge mess and expense of removing the old floor.
Q: Is the flooring slippery?
A: No. Our indoor athletic surfaces are engineered with a specific friction coefficient to provide “grip and slip”—giving you traction for cuts and pivots, but allowing enough slide to prevent knee injuries.
Q: How do I clean my home gym floor?
A: It is incredibly low maintenance. For our synthetic wood/modular tiles, a dust mop and an occasional damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner is all you need. For rubber flooring, a vacuum and simple soap-and-water solution work perfectly.
Q: Does the flooring smell like rubber?
A: Our high-quality vulcanized rubber flooring is low-VOC and virtually odorless. We do not use cheap “stall mat” rubber that off-gasses strong chemical smells into your home.
