COMMERCIAL BASKETBALL COURTS
High-Performance Athletic Surfaces for Schools, Parks, and Communities
Premier Commercial Basketball Court Construction
Build a facility that stands the test of time. Whether you are upgrading a school gymnasium, revitalizing a municipal park, or installing a new amenity for an apartment complex, the quality of your court reflects the quality of your organization. But in the Rockies and High Plains, standard asphalt courts are a liability—prone to cracking, heaving, and rapid deterioration.
Court Builders of the Rockies delivers a superior solution. As the region’s ASBA Builder Member, we design commercial basketball courts engineered to withstand heavy public use and severe freeze-thaw cycles. We help you build safe, durable facilities that reduce liability and maintenance costs for decades.
Engineered for Institutional Durability
Stop spending your budget on crack repair. Commercial facilities face two main threats: heavy foot traffic and aggressive weather. We utilize a dual-system approach to neutralize both:
1. The Foundation: Post-Tension Concrete
We do not rely on standard asphalt or light-duty concrete. We specialize in Post-Tension Concrete slabs, reinforced with high-strength steel cables that are tensioned after the concrete cures.
-
-
Why it matters: This creates a “monolithic” floating slab that resists the heaving and settling caused by expanding soils in Colorado, Wyoming, and the Midwest. It creates a permanent, structural foundation that standard paving contractors cannot match.
-
2. The Surface: Safety & Performance
Directly over the concrete, we install our high-impact modular surfacing or commercial-grade indoor flooring.
-
-
Liability Reduction: Our outdoor tiles feature Lateral Forgiveness™, a technology that allows slight side-to-side movement to absorb shock. This significantly reduces the risk of joint injuries and concussions compared to playing on raw concrete.
-
Vandalism Resistance: Our surfaces are non-porous and graffiti-resistant. Unlike painted acrylic, which peels and fades, our tiles maintain their vibrant color for years without resurfacing.
-
All-Weather Play: The open-grid design makes the court self-draining. Your facility is ready for play minutes after a rainstorm, maximizing usage hours for your community.
-

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Indoor vs. Outdoor: What is the best commercial surface?
A: For outdoor parks and schools, we recommend our suspended modular tiles (PowerGame™) due to their drainage and UV stability. For indoor gyms, we offer “Maple Select” synthetic flooring—it provides the look and feel of a traditional wood court but is waterproof and requires no sanding or refinishing.
Q: How do we maintain these courts?
A: Maintenance is minimal. Outdoor courts generally require only a leaf blower or power wash to keep clean. Indoor synthetic courts need only a dust mop and auto-scrubber. This significantly reduces labor costs compared to maintaining wood or clay surfaces.
Q: Can you renovate our existing cracked court?
A: Yes. We specialize in court restoration. In many cases, we can install our modular surface directly over your existing cracked concrete or asphalt, bridging the imperfections and saving you the massive cost of demolition and removal.
Q: Are you insured for commercial projects?
A: Yes. We carry full liability and workers’ compensation insurance and adhere to strict safety protocols. We are accustomed to the rigorous bidding and compliance requirements of municipal and educational projects.
